If you would like to speak with me first, to find out more, or to ask any questions you may have, I offer a 20-minute telephone appointment at no charge. This will help us decide if we are a good fit to work together. If we agree we are, we will then arrange an initial assessment appointment so that we can further explore your hopes and expectations for counselling and agree a regular appointment time for us to meet.
Having a regular, committed space for counselling on a weekly basis will ensure that we work together with some continuity. My usual practice is to review with you on a regular basis. I can provide some flexibility with appointments, for example, offering fortnightly rather than weekly appointments. If we agree this may be a more suitable option for you, I would suggest some weekly sessions at first to help us gain some continuity and establish some clarity about our ongoing work together.
How many sessions you need depends very much on you, and what you are hoping to gain from our counselling sessions. For some people, up to 8 sessions is enough, for others, a longer-term approach may be more helpful. There is no limit on the number of sessions, so they can remain open-ended and regularly reviewed. We can discuss the planned duration of our work together during our initial session and review this as we continue.
Your privacy and confidentiality are as important in online counselling as they are in face to face counselling. I offer online counselling via Zoom from a private and confidential setting. It is important to ensure that you can also attend appointments online from a place that is quiet, private and confidential so that you have the dedicated time for yourself with no interruptions.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange an initial 20 minute telephone appointment at no charge. This will enable us to discuss the reasons you are considering counselling and if it could be helpful for you. It will also help us to consider if I am the right counsellor to help. If not, I will do my best to provide information about other support that may be more appropriate for you.
I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an initial appointment.
